Why the World Needs You to Master Your Money

I believe in a world where every person is financially free.

I believe removing the worry and stress and time we spend thinking about and working for money will allow us the mental space to think about, and ultimately do, what we really want with our lives - whether that's a certain passion project, or traveling the world, or more intentionally raising our kids.

Imagine a world where every person spends their days not worrying about money, but working on the things they love most - regardless of money.

I think there would be more peace, love, happiness, healthy innovation, excitement, and laughter. And less hate, war, needless death, anger, hurt, and evil.

And I think the way we get there is to learn how to stop trading our time for money when it means working on things we don't love.

The moment you no longer HAVE to do anything you don't want to for money, everything shifts.

You feel lighter, freer, clear-minded, empowered, and emboldened. It's a magical, magical thing.

Today, there are more opportunities, money to be made, decisions to make, home life to manage, expectations to meet, and societal standards to live up to.

And it's all so very amazing to be alive in this day and age... but...

It. Is. Freaking. Exhausting.

Life for most of us feels like walking a tightrope while juggling grandma's priceless China - an impossible task, but one where failure is quite simply not an option.

Overwhelm, stress, anxiety, and self-doubt are feelings we're well acquainted with and we navigate them the same way we navigate the rest of our lives - we just keep pushing through.

It's simply too much and, with all due respect to Rosie the Riveter, on some days, no amount of "We can do it" is going to get us there.

More importantly, where *is* 'there'?

What's this magical destination we're all working toward where we'll finally be good enough, have enough, and be happy enough?

Do you know what your 'enough' is?

All of our responsibilities in the 21st century leave little to no time for us to focus on things we enjoy and do what we want.

And for those of us who don't know what we want, these responsibilities leave little to no time to figure it out.

It's a huge problem, and I see it over and over again with people in my own life, and I've seen it in myself.

I've asked many of my friends what would truly help them create the lives they want and, again and again, their answers point to one thing.

Do you know what it is? I'm willing to bet you do.

It's not a different relationship, a different body weight, or a different job.

That's not what's coming up in my research - the number one thing that keeps bubbling up on how to help you live the life you most desire is...

It's ironic because, as money continues to rise to the surface in all these interviews, I can't help but think of the saying, "Money can't buy you happiness."

And I'm not saying it can buy you happiness.

But what money can do is give you the time to figure out what you need to create a life you love living.

You have a lot on your plate already, and trying to figure out how to make or save more money is probably not something you have the time or energy to figure out.

You're not alone.

Many of us feel this way, but I can assure you that the moment you start focusing on ways to create passive income (money you make without trading time for it - "making money while you sleep"), your constant state of overwhelm will immediately disappear.

I've experienced this firsthand.

I'm not saying you'll magically create loads of money overnight; that doesn't happen in real life. But you'll have a plan in place and be laying the foundation for multiple streams of passive income and, with a plan in place, you'll start to relax.

To make things easier, I built a 3-step framework to help you create financial independence and confidence, and we'll deep dive into each part, along with a variety of examples and stories to help better paint the picture and solidify the learnings in your mind.

In the end, the goal is to create more free time, more freedom, less stress, less overwhelm, more time to do what you want with who you want - and less time spent on things you don't love.

It's about helping you avoid a life of struggle moving from job to job with that little voice in the back of your head whispering, "Will you have enough to make ends meet in the long run?"

It's about moving away from the constant state of stress, overwhelm, exhaustion, anxiety, uncertainty, and fear of the future, and toward a state of confidence, independence, freedom, peace, certainty, courage, and excitement for the future.

It's about living - not just going through the motions. It's about TRULY living.

If working less and living more sounds like something you're interested in, let me tell you, it's a beautiful way to be.

And to get there, you'll need to understand some key items and build them into your life in a way that works for you.

My framework will walk you through:

  • How to save more money - without it feeling too painful

  • How to make more money - from pay raises to flexible work, to side hustles

  • Investing 101 - what it is and how to get started, in plain English

  • Money Mindset - arguably the most important subject of all

  • And more - from emergency funds to assets vs. liabilities, to getting out of debt, to building and using credit, and beyond

If you'd like to come along for this wild ride, stick your thumb out, throw your suitcase in the back, and climb on in.

The REAL conversation happens OFF social media because these topics go so much deeper than those platforms allow.

So, join the gang who've raised their hands to say, "YES, Jess! I'm ready to prioritize myself and create more freedom in my life."

I hope you'll join me on this journey!

(and if I'm over here oozing money advice and you've got your arms out like STRANGER DANGER, I get it! Let's get to know each other better - you can read a little more about how I quit trading time for money here.)
